The Capacities of Tony Baldry, a Barrister and MP

Comment

The lawyer who instructed Baldry, Santosh Zaiwalla, has an interesting history of his own. In 1997, in the last days of the John Major government, when Baldry was still a minister, Zaiwalla lent him 5000 pounds interest-free and Baldry subsequently recommended Zaiwalla for a CBE. When the Commons found out about this in 2000, Baldry was forced to apologize to the house. Later Zaiwalla was involved in a similar incident with Keith Vaz.
