Sidley snares Pinsents' insurance chief for City practice

The blow is bigger than you may realise, given the departure of the Birmingham based insurance team late last year - and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I doubt the firm can continue to be called "National" going forward, maybe London firm with minor insignificant provincial offices would be a better description, which is a shame, since it was a regional firm (and proud of it) for much of its 160 year history. Its also a shame because they will not be able to take advantage of the significantly lower paid professionals in the regions, with lower charge-out rates, and lower costs, at a time when clients want more "bang for their buck".
