I agree, if you're enjoying yourself, not harming anyone else and generally progressing in your career then what's the problem? Why the need to become fluent in a local language etc? I think 'truly experiencing the country' is a rather obnoxious statement to make, based on the assumption that enjoying ex-pat life is somehow morally wrong.
