Headline

Dewey snares role on 2009’s biggest European flotation

Comment

Dear Mr Swift, The article states that the IPO of PGE "was also the largest in Poland’s history". Please be informed that this information is incorrect. The value of the IPO of PGE was PLN 5.97 billion. In 2004 the largest retail bank in Poland, PKO BP, commenced its IPO with a value of PLN 7.6 billion. Weil Gotshal acted as lead legal counsel in connection with the IPO of PKO BP, which is, to date, the largest IPO not only in Poland's history, but also the largest ever in Central and Eastern Europe. The article also states that “Dewey has acted last year on the flotation of Poland’s second-largest ¬utility company Enea”. Please note that Enea is rather considered to be the fourth largest energy holding in Poland, and the lead legal counsel on its IPO was Weil Gotshal, which provided comprehensive legal advisory to the issuer and was responsible for drafting and keeping the master copy of the prospectus. Kind regards, Maciej Ostaszewski, Business Development Specialist at the Warsaw office of Weil Gotshal
