Law schools: Spoilt for choice

I agree with Anonymous (2:23pm). The LPC is not worth £10k! Compared to the £4k I paid to do the CPE/PGDL, which I understand is a far more demanding course, I am now expected to cough up £10k to do a course which requires less work, time and effort. Something smells a bit fishy here and it isn't a fish factory or trawler or any other fish-related apparatus! However, given the current market, I am quite relieved that I didn't do the LPC straight after completing the CPE (I looked on a job site yesterday to gauge how saturated the job market currently is...the fact that there were in excess of 500 (!) applications for some paralegal positions says it all). I am now a Graduate Member of Ilex and have only to complete the LPC in order to qualify as a Solicitor. Once I manage to save the money (about the 12th of never!) I may actually get qualified. Come on LPC providers - even £8k is too much! Give us a chance! I would be very interested to learn what it actually costs (staff, resources) to provide the course.
