Simmons & Simmons hits back at ‘CR is PR’ critics

The cynicism about firms like S&S's promotion of their CR activities is entirely misunderstood, in my opinion. The issue isn't whether or not firms should contribute in this way (I think they should, and traditionally they always have through pro bono work for charities - modern CR is just a more sophisticated version of this). The issue is the shameless promotion of the CR activities. If firms want to do Good Things, that's great. It isn't newsworthy, however.
