Totally agree - some of the posters need a reality check if thei think that the only talent within the legal profession is concentrated exclusively at City firms. Incidentally, I'm not a bitter City reject. I trained and practiced at a Top 10 firm and then left of my own volition when I had a child and to fit in with my other half's army posting.. The conclusion being, that yes, there are plenty of cowboys/half wits at smaller firms but in no way are there any more than are currently walking the hallowed floors of the Magic Circle..get real! Any joker can sit in their office until 11pm every night- it doesn't make you a better professional, or more successful or more , well, anything really...apart from boring obviously.. Plenty of talented lawyers are secure enough in themselves to have avoided the City in favour of life (the operative word here) at smaller firms...and no they don't look wistfully on as their City counterparts get all the glory, secretly berating themselves for never 'making it' Get a grip!
