College of Law plans Bristol invasion

I have to disagree with the first post. When I was deciding what course to go to I found UWE’s BILP to have the best reputation, as their LPC course has received the top ranking since its conception. Now pretty much every one gets excellent, but it you look into it the criteria changed a few years ago to make it easier to gain top scores. Also, I found the staff to be more approachable when visiting the course providers and found out that BILP’s staff have been there for a number of years and are a close knit bunch, which makes it so much easier when studying. Contact time is important at BILP. I have friends who chose to go to CoL and they said a lot of their course was completed remotely with online links. Now m first reaction to this was excellent, but I thought about this more closely and to be honest when you’re paying more money than other institutions and getting less contact time, that doesn’t seem like a good equation! In the end, I decided that I wanted to go to BILP (who, by the way, are very proud of being part of UWE) and I had an amazing year. I can honestly say even if I had the choice between CoL and BILP in Bristol I would still choose BILP, and anyone that properly looks into the courses will do the same – CoL have made a strategic error; they would have been better setting up in a city without an LPC provider. They’ve set themselves up to fail.
