I agree with the above. In order to stay alive and having no parent funding, we have to work hard in some restaurant/bar jobs, which would not look good on your CV for the law firm employers. Volunteering sometimes takes months and most of us cannot afford. I would love to volunteer once per week and keep my job, but usually there is no such opportunities.
