Mofo sees the bright side

Firms liked these simply followed the leader into "international" practice. Go global or perish was the mantra 10 years ago. With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, these firms should now realize that if you don`t have the right clients, the right expertise and the right management, then you should stay put in California and do what your good at. What is the point of having attorneys in New York, London and Hong Kong burning cash twice as fast as the IP litigators in San Francisco can print it. Now is a great opportunity for these firms to cut offices and practice groups and do a subtle U-turn on the international strategy. But if the sheep mentality rules, they will just keep digging the hole.
