Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme for social housing back on the boil?

After two years of mixed interest in the Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has launched a further £6m scheme for registered providers of social housing to install heat pumps, solar thermal panels and biomass boilers under its Phase 2 extension.

In a different approach to previous years, this scheme will be split into two bidding windows of £3 million each:

  • The ‘fast-track’ window is aimed at landlords who have projects in the pipeline and ready to go. Applications for bids under this window will close on 28 June 2013.
  • The ‘reach-out’ window is aimed at those who require more support with developing their proposals and submitting applications. Applications for bids under this window will close on 27 September 2013…
