City firm Lovell White Durrant is jointly hosting the 1996 International Reinsurance Dispute Resolution conference with its newly-opened Chicago office. The event, to be held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 19 to 21 June next year, carries on the tradition of reinsurance conferences held over the past five years by Joe McCullough, George Platz and Eric Haab, who opened the firm's Chicago office in April 1995. The partners were formerly with US firm Sidley & Austin. Lovells says the conference will examine, among other subjects, the "troublesome issues that frequently arise out of the vast and increasing environmental losses being billed to reinsurers by US ceding companies".
