Regulatory void leaves public sector professions hanging

  • The announced intention to abolish GTC for England is an assault on professions, and in this case on parliamentary democracy, since it is Parliament, not the Government, which determines the GTC's future, under primary legislation (but by the time Parliament is invited to abolish the GTC, it will have been so undermined that this will be a fait accompli.
