Reed Smith Richards Butler has boosted its German arm with the hire of Hammonds corporate partner Klaus Grossmann.
The firm now has a team of two partners and three associates in Munich. The raid is a blow to Hammonds, as Grossmann headed the firm's Munich corporate team.
Reed Smith Munich managing partner Stefan Kugler said: "[Grossmann] has excellent contacts on a national and international level due to his broad global experience. We'll be able to offer more comprehensive support to those contacts in the future, working with our network in the US and the Middle East."
Reed Smith opened its Munich office in May 2005. It still goes by the name of Reed Smith in the German market despite this year's merger with Richards Butler.
