Reed Smith has given its structured finance capacity a boost with a hire from Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP).
Tamara Box, head of international structured finance at BLP and a partner in the banking and capital markets group, has resigned from the firm and is expected to join Reed Smith as a partner in February 2012.
She will work in the financial industry group, which is the firm’s largest industry group with 230 lawyers, as head of structured finance.
Box has more than 18 years’ experience advising on structured finance and securitisation transactions, derivatives, debt capital markets and restructurings. She joined BLP as a partner in 2006 from legacy firm Lovells (8 May 2006).
Earlier this month Reed Smith hired former SJ Berwin managing partner candidate Perry Yam (14 December 2011).

BLP not looking after their talented female partners, eh? Pollyanna Deane has just gone as well.

Quelle Surprise. I doubt BLP is crying into its soup. Box has been at Orrick, Tite and Lewis, Lovells, BLP and now Reed Smith - and all in eleven years, including a stint on maternity leave.

Anonymous, she is no doubt picking up bigger and bigger pay packages each time she moves. Who is having the last laugh?

When you are great at what you do, the head hunters do their job and find the best. Sounds like some of you don't know that as you never get any calls. Congrats to Tamara and Reed Smith!
