Reed Smith expands ME practice with addition of Holland & Knight partner
Reed Smith has continued its hiring spree with the arrival of Holland & Knight’s Abu Dhabi managing partner Donald Moore.
Moore, a corporate partner, joins the firm alongside corporate associate Nijoe Joseph, with both joining the US outfit this month. More is to be based in Abu Dhabi while Joseph will work out of Dubai.
Moore has a broad corporate practice that focuses on transport, aviation and banks. He has frequently advised the prominent Al Masaood family in Abu Dhabi.
He transferred to Holland & Knight’s Abu Dhabi base from Miami in 2008 as part of the US firm’s launch in the hub.
Joseph was senior legal adviser to the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation’s maritime division before joining Holland & Knight and has experience on Indian matters.
Reed Smith Europe and Middle East corporate head James Wilkinson said in a statement: “Donald has practised in the UAE for several years and has a strong client base in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the US, which we expect will offer a number of opportunities for cross-servicing in the future.”
The scoop follows hires this year in Paris (28 September 2011) and Shanghai as part of a launch in the Chinese city (12 July 2011).
Reed Smith also raided DLA Piper for four City partners in capital markets, corporate and securities in August (2 August 2011) and made an energy hire from SNR Denton in the spring (16 May 2011).
