Reed Smith has made the second partner hire to its London energy, trade and commodities group this year with the recruitment of Troutman Sanders partner John Varholy.
The move follows January’s hire of Siân Fellows from Shell, where she had been senior counsel.
Varholy was founding and managing partner at Troutman Sanders’ London office before going on to lead its trading, hedging and marketing group.
Before moving into private practice Varholy had worked in-house at Texaco and Mobil Oil. He specialises in the trading of energy and related derivatives.
