This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Browne Jacobson has reported a record 37.4 per cent increase in average profit per equity partner (PEP) and a 12 per cent rise in turnover to £27m.
PEP rose from £230,000 last year to £316,000.
Managing partner Brian Smith said that the firm aimed to be "the best firm in the Midlands".
The firm’s growth was driven by a particularly good year for the corporate market and generally, Browne Jacobson is starting to enjoy the fruits of a strategic investment launched five years ago, explained Smith.
Meanwhile the firm's Birmingham office, which opened in 1999, has recruited its sixth partner this year. Declan Cushley will join the intellectual property team on 1 August 2005 from the in-house team at brewers Molson Coors.
