The senior vice-president and general counsel of Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser has quit after just one year in the post.
John Guidry, who has been employed by Reckitt Benckiser for six years, left the FTSE 100 company last week. He was promoted to senior vice-president and general counsel in January 2003, to replace Jonathan Jones, the former legal counsel and company secretary.
Reckitt Benckiser’s chief financial officer Colin Day confirmed Guidry’s surprise departure and said in a prepared statement: “John Guidry has decided to leave Reckitt Benckiser to return to the US for family and personal reasons.”
Day, who will be temporarily in charge of Reckitt Benckiser’s legal function, added that a replacement had not yet been found for Guidry.
Slough-based Reckitt Benckiser, a Slaughter and May client, counts Vanish soap, Dettol antiseptic and Lemsip flu powder as some of its most high-profile brands.
