The Paris office of German firm BRS Rödl & Partner is expanding its French presence by moving offices and hiring a former Allen & Overy (A&O) lawyer.
Christoph Maurer joined Rödl on 1 October, a week before the firm relocated its Paris practice to new offices near the Champs-Elysées. Maurer comes from his year-long role of legal director for air-conditioning company Valeo Climatisation. Prior to that he spent time at A&O’s Paris and Frankfurt offices. He is a corporate and commercial partner at Rödl.
Rödl has also hired a senior associate from Clifford Chance. Together, the hires mark further expansion for the firm and bring the total number of lawyers to 16. Maurer is Rödl’s third partner in France.
Co-managing partner Christoph Seseke said: “We’re growing relatively quickly and now we have to put the work in. We want to grow a little bit faster in fiscal areas.”
