The Department for Constitutional Affairs is drawing up plans for a wholesale redevelopment of the Royal Courts of Justice in order to create a new building for the Commercial, Admiralty and Technology and Construction Courts, to be built by private contractors.
No new public money has been earmarked for the project, which will cost up to £100m.
