Technology licensing company Rambus has poached its new general counsel from computer chip supplier Xilinx.
Thomas Lavelle joined as senior vice president and general counsel at Rambus, reporting to president and chief executive officer Harold Hughes.
Lavelle has spent much of his career in-house at technology companies.
He joined Xilinx in 1999 after spending more than 15 years at Intel Corporation. At Intel he held a variety of positions in the legal team, advising on capital markets, technology licensing, antitrust enforcement and litigation.
