City firm Rakisons has picked up a commercial property partner from dissolving firm Edward Lewis - one of the last partners to announce his new destination.
Lance Conway has been a partner at Edward Lewis since 1997 and is moving to the firm with his assistant and client base. His clients include property company Wiggins Group and others that he describes as "high profile".
Conway says that Rakisons approached him with a view to joining the firm before the decision was taken to dissolve his existing partnership.
"I have been talking to the firm for a while and it is a high profile firm that fits well with my clients. It is a firm that is going places and expanding," he says.
His move to Rakisons brings the number of partners at the firm to 14, three of whom are in the property department.
Head of property at Rakisons Brendan Patterson says: "The department has needed to bolster its numbers to deal with the increased workload for some time but we had not managed to find the right person until now."
Last October the firm's merger talks with niche media firm Stephens Innocent collapsed.
