Rakisons' former chief moves again

Rakisons' former head of corporate has resurfaced as a corporate partner at Speechly Bircham after talks with Lawrence Graham broke down.

Joel Adler was with Rakisons for 12 years. He left the firm in March before entering discussions with Lawrence Graham about becoming a partner there.

Michael Storer, head of company and commercial at Lawrence Graham, says: “Both parties felt that the fit wasn't quite right.”

Storer says that the firm helped Adler keep his clients by completing transactions to allow him to concentrate on the discussions about gaining a position at Lawrence Graham.

Adler's appointment at Speechly Bircham brings the number of corporate partners to 10 and coincides with a flurry of internal promotions at the firm.

Andrew Collins becomes a partner in the corporate department while Elizabeth Budd has been promoted to a partner in financial services. And William Hancock is now a partner in the private capital department.
