Sticking with the telecoms sector, telecoms companies Qualcomm and Nokia are at loggerheads again over patent issues, with the former lodging a complaint with the US International Trade Commission.
If successful, Qualcomm could ban Nokia handsets from the US for infringing six of its patents, making the complaint a tricky issue for Nokia general counsel Carl Belding, who joined the company at the start of the year from IBM.
The dispute between the two telecoms companies goes back to October last year, when Nokia complained to the European Commission about the price of Qualcomm's patent licences, sparking that company to file a suit against Nokia in San Diego over alleged infringements.
