PWC Veltins Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft - PricewaterhouseCoopers' German law firm - has lost a key construction partner who has left to set up a rival firm.
Ralf Leinemann, who is recognised in the market as a leading construction lawyer, has left Veltins with a group of assistants to set up Leinemann & Partners in the country's leading city for property law issues, Berlin.
Four of the assistants have been made up to partners and four remain assistants.
Two new assistants will join the new firm in a couple of months. One is moving from Gassner Stockmann & Kollegen and the other from Conrad Fricke Kocheburger.
Leinemann says this is just the start of the expansion of his new firm.
He says: "The market will allow us to expand to a certain degree and we intend to do so. As a boutique law firm in a specific region we will be able to grow to about 30 lawyers."
Leinemann says he has taken many of Veltins' clients with him.
