The London office of US firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey is launching a hospitality and leisure practice with a new partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Daniel Larkin will head the office's real estate practice and develop a combined focus with hospitality across the UK and Europe. Since 1998 Larkin has been managing director of the European practice of PwC's global hospitality and leisure group. Before that he was associate general counsel for hotel group Hyatt International. Managing partner of the London office Mara Babin said the hire was strategic. "We already have a significant hospitality practice - the experts are located in the US, but their practices are global," she said. "We've been looking to add capacity in London to service the existing practice, and the Phoenix office head Richard Ross has known Dan Larkin for a number of years." The practice will focus on acting for four main groups: owners, operators and developers in the leisure sector, and governments.
