Property selling solicitors will begin a charm offensive this week to try to convince the national press and the public of the worth of their move into property selling.
Solicitors' Property Centres (SPC) will launch a national chain of property shops at a press conference this Thursday and is expected to announce that hundreds of firms have already signed up to its scheme.
SPC director Richard Berenson said the organisation would argue that solicitors selling property were offering "the best of both worlds".
"Our aim is to take the best aspects of conveyancing and the best aspects of estate agencies and put them together," said Berenson.
He said that there had been a huge increase in firms signing up to join SPC's initiative since the Law Society decided to deregulate property selling earlier this month.
