Leading property lawyers and other professionals are signing up to a new industry group to develop real estate partnerships, set up on the back of an initiative by Lovells.
Widespread support has now led to the creation of a special interest group for lawyers, surveyors, accountants, occupiers, service providers and bankers, under the umbrella of Nacore, the International Association for Corporate Real Estate Professionals. Lovells real estate partner Nicholas Cheffings said: "When Bob Kidby and I first had the idea to set up a Preps [private real estate partnerships] association, we were not sure whether other professionals would go along with the idea that we all ought to be sharing knowledge and information. In fact, the response we had was astonishing. We know that people like James George at Freshfields, Iain Morpeth at Clifford Chance and James Knox at Linklaters & Alliance are with us on this one." Other law firms invited to be involved include Herbert Smith, Ashurst Morris Crisp, Nabarro Nathanson, Allen & Overy, Wragge & Co and a number of Scottish firms.
