For our first issue back this January, we gathered together five junior solicitors from different backgrounds and different firms. And in a first for The Lawyer, we plan to follow them for the rest of their working life to see how their careers develop and how their ambitions change.

If we’re lucky, our five chosen juniors will go on to have fascinating and varied careers in practice, becoming partners, department heads and in-house counsel – or even taking up jobs in new, as-yet undefined legal roles (if we’re unlucky, they’ll all have left the law within two years complaining of burnout).

Watch this video for a quick introduction to our select five and listen to our podcast with them for more about their career ambitions, as well as their current thoughts on the state of the legal profession. You can also read our main feature here.
