Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Assoc launches

The Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association (Pocla) was launched on Monday (16 June) at the Inner Temple Hall in front of 400 guests.

Lord Justice Laws is the Pocla president and Andrew Mitchell QC of Furnival Chambers the chairman. Mitchell said the association would explore such issues as balancing the rights of innocent people with the aim of depriving criminals of their ill-gotten gains in an overall bid to reduce organised crime.

Pocla will enable prosecutors and defence lawyers to find a proportionate approach by working together.
