The Law Lords have given leave for a probe into the rights of journalists to professional access to those serving prison sentences. The Lawyer recently reported that they were considering granting leave for an appeal against an Appeal Court ruling that prison authorities can ban visits to prisoners by journalists in the absence of undertakings that material obtained during such visits will not be used in the media.
