  • What jokers.
Not just the clients. Gordons too.

  • I strongly believe that all distant descendants of the last Plantagenet King should have had an opportunity for consultation before the license was granted, irrespective of how many people may be involved; and especially when many of the current living descendants are spread around the globe. Richard III not only holds a special place as a monarch,in the history of England, but is even more important to all of his living descendants, irrespective of any 100 year rule. I applaud the Plantagenet Alliance for commencement of the proceedings to ensure justice is truly done and that Richard is accorded the burial that he would have wanted.

  • Richard III had 1 legitimate and 2 illegitimate children and there is no evidence that any of those had children of their own. So who are these "descendants"?

  • To the two anonymous posters - if this was your grandmother or one of your parents who decided before they died that they wanted to be buried somewhere, and someone else decided they would be buried elsewhere, I'm assuming you would not take issue with that?

  • It's people just chiming in for a bit of publicity. Let him rest in Leicester - it could do with the tourism.

  • What is the HARD EVIDENCE that Richard decided before he died that he wanted to be buried somewhere ?

  • It is impossible for them to be my descendants. They are the descendants of some of my immediate relatives. Yes we're related, but they do not flow directly from me. They are at best, exceptionally distant cousins, so to speak. In any event, I am bored of all of this.

  • This obsession with Leicester is obviously just political correctness gone mad. There's only been a diocese there since 1926. Hardly of great historic interest.
Either that or the decision makers are secret Lancastrians.
A Catholic requiem mass according to the Sarum Rite in York Minster would be more appropriate.
