Lord Justice Potter has been appointed as the new president of the High Court’s Family Division. He will replace the popular Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss in April. The position of deputy head of family justice and international family justice has gone to Lord Justice Thorpe. Lord Falconer, the Lord Chancellor, said the range of issues now dealt with by the division “require leadership of the highest calibre”.
