Post-merger DAC Beachcroft snaps up Scotland's Andersons
DAC Beachcroft is to take over Scottish firm Andersons Solicitors in a deal it believes will give a “more comprehensive” service to both firms’ insurer clients.

The deal will go live on 3 September with the business north of the border operating under the name DAC Beachcroft Scotland.
Andersons, which has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, specialises in insurance litigation and dispute resolution.
DAC Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray said his firm and Andersons share “a pleasing cultural fit”.
He added: “The move will enable us to provide our insurance clients with an even more distinctive, full-service offering while also allowing us to service our growing corporate client base, many of which have operations north of the border.
“These are exciting times for DAC Beachcroft and this initiative is a significant step in our strategy of becoming the leading UK and international provider of legal services to the insurance sector.”
Andersons chairman and head of insurance and dispute resolution Gilbert Anderson said that the firms “share the same ethos”, adding: “We in Scotland are justly proud of our distinctive Scottish legal system. The joint venture will enable the firm to offer cross-border legal services to insurers throughout the UK.
“Given the global nature of DAC Beachcroft, I firmly believe that joining with them will not only be good for our insurance clients but also for Scotland.”
DAC Beachcroft was formed last November via a merger between Beachcroft and Davies Arnold Cooper (22 July 2011).

Another Scots Law firm takes the thirty pieces of sliver. Sad day, especially for those staff who are losing their lobs.

I trained and worked in Scotland for a year, and my clear view is throw a stone in a Scottish firm and if you hit a gifted lawyer they are either looking to leave Scotland, or they sure should be, (and you, without a doubt, will not have hit a partner). If you're good, go south, you will move up so quicker and earn so so much more so so much faster.
