The Legal Services Board (LSB) is to launch a major new panel with the possibility of a single law firm winning the pitch.
The LSB will invite firms to tender across four areas of support encompassing a number of specialisations. These are operational legal support, overflow support, analytical legal support and litigation.
The LSB has indicated that it will either identify a single provider or shortlist a number of firms.
Key practice areas it is seeking advice in include property, public procurement, general commercial advice, employment, European law, competition, public law, judicial review, drafting statutory instruments and litigation.
It launched a tender process last Friday (25 September) and firms have been instructed to submit documents by 16 October.
The LSB was established in January 2009 with a mandate to ensure the profession is regulated properly. The body becomes fully operational in early 2010.
