P&O’s Gradon and Simm walk the plank

Other lawyers who will be receiving bonuses of a different kind were P&O lawyers Michael Gradon and Iain Simm. Both were made redundant following DP World’s epic takeover of P&O.

Gradon was legal and commercial affairs director at P&O, a company he served for 20 years, while Simm was general counsel at P&O Ports.

Gradon, who is taking some time out with his family, waggishly commented: “P&O was a very happy ship to work in.”

The sole lawyer at pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics business Provalis will also be leaving after the company was put into liquidation.

Legal director Lee Greenbury leaves Provalis at the end of September after eight years with the company he joined from Boots.
