Licensing specialist law firm Poppleston Allen has recruited Addleshaw Booth & Co's Paddy Whur as a partner into its Nottingham office
Whur, who joined the firm from Addleshaws' Leeds office, concentrates on the legal implications of betting on the internet and will also focus on licensing advocacy. Prior to Addleshaws, Whur spent five years at Walker Morris. Whur won Ladbrokes as a client at the end of last year, acting for the bookmakers on internet betting issues. He takes Ladbrokes with him as a client to Poppleston Allen. Ladbrokes also instructs Trethowans for licensing work. Jeremy Allen, one of the founding partners of Poppleston Allen, said: "He'll make a very welcome addition to our team of five solicitors. With his arrival, betting and gaming advocacy will become another of our specialist areas and ensures we can provide for all the licensing needs of the leisure industry."
