Pinsents swoops on Skandia for new insurance head

Pinsent Masons has appointed a new director of life insurance in its insurance and reinsurance group.

Mike Evans is the former chief operating officer of Swedish investment management giant Skandia UK, and actuary of offshore investment products business Royal Skandia.

Head of the insurance & reinsurance group, Tim Burton, said: "Mike is a leading player in the life insurance sector and we are delighted to have someone of his stature working with us to provide specialist advice."

He currently holds non-executive directorships at investment managers Hargreaves Lansdown, and the retail pooled funds board of ING Real Estate Investment Management UK.

Evans will assist Pinsent Masons develop its life insurance practice, and provide input on projects involving the life insurance sector.
