Pinsents is launching a dedicated banking and finance group to help the national firm strengthen its relationship with institutions.
Pinsents’ banking and finance group, which is currently part of the firm’s wider corporate group, is hoping that the reorganisation will help the firm win larger and more complicated deals.
As part of the reorganisation, Pinsents’ London office has hired Martin Bishop and Oliver Jones as partners from Slaughter and May and Jones Day respectively. Their appointments are part of a three-year plan to grow the firm’s London office so that it is in a position to exploit the relationships it has with lenders in the regions. Currently, the firm’s London office does very little lender work.
Commenting on the plan, Pinsents’ national group head Stephen Miles said: “These are exciting appointments for us, adding weight and strength in London to a national team that already enjoys strong relationships with the UK’s major clearing banks and other financial institutions.”
