Pinsent Masons will add eight new partners to its ranks this year, with promotions taking effect on 1 May.
Two partners have been made up in Asia - Kening Li in the Shanghai outsourcing, technology and commercial team and Peter Borg in the Hong Kong projects and international construction team - with the remainder in the UK.
No females have been made up this year, although the firm’s director of HR and learning Jonathan Bond said this was not something the firm had done deliberately.
He added: “Although there are no female partner promotions this year, this is a blip, not a trend.
“Our gender diversity remains healthy. One in four of our partners are female, placing us above every other top 20 law firm. And across all levels of seniority from associate above 40 per cent of all our promotions this year are women.”
Senior partner Chris Mullen said: “I’m very pleased that, notwithstanding the prevailing difficult economic and trading conditions, our partnership continues to be prepared to invest in the future of Pinsent Masons by promoting eight talented and dedicated lawyers to become partners.

The total of eight promotions is a fall of 53 per cent on last year’s total of 17 promotions.
