  • Look, basically we shouldn't feel at all sorry for these guys. When the public sector was booming for IT work they were more than happy to be perceived as being public sector focused. And let's face it, they made an awful lot of money out of throwing bodies at major public sector IT projects. So now that public sector IT work has declined, surprise, surprise we are supposed to believe that they are now focused on other (more lucrative) sectors. This is pure marketing spin from a group of lawyers who are more than happy to milk it in the good times but want to muscle in on other sectors in the not-so-good times. Do they honestly think that clients and other lawyers are going to be fooled by this? Maybe they do.

  • Pinsents outsourcing team may be hiring but then they need to. They've lost 10 solicitors/SAs in the past year. I guess that "client contact" isn't regarded as great recompense for poor salary, prospects and morale.
