Pinsent Masons has continued its expansion in Germany by bolting on a four-partner capital markets boutique in Munich.

The team from Mayrhofer & Partner will join Pinsents on 1 January. It is led by founding partner Thomas Mayrhofer, and includes partners Alexander Thomas, Gudrun Moll and Hans-Ulrich Birkhofer.

The hires follow two other lateral hires in Germany in 2015. Pinsents picked up Clifford Chance’s former IP head Marc Holtorf in June, with former Fieldfisher Munich head Sibylle Schumacher joining in September.

Mayrhofer & Partner advises mainly public companies in all aspects of capital markets. Past deals have included the acquisition of social network XING by media company Burda and the IPO of CashCloud.

Mayrhofer said the boutique felt that the opportunity to join Pinsents was “too good to ignore”.

Pinsents launched in Munich in 2012 with a team of seven technology partners.
