Pillsbury overhauls management team

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has overhauled its management team, electing real estate partner James Rishwain as chairman and installing a new board.

Stephen Hutler, managing partner of Shaw Pittman before its merger with Pillsbury Winthrop, becomes executive vice chairman. Hutler and Rishwain will lead the firm, taking over from chair Mary Cranston and managing partner Marina Park.

The new board consists of 12 US partners, elected by Pillsbury’s 370-strong worldwide partnership. It includes four corporate securities partners, two from the insolvency department and one each from finance, litigation, real estate and global outsourcing.

The board also elected New York insolvency partner Richard Epling as lead director and San Francisco litigation partner Patrick Marshall as executive partner for practice section development and management.

Cranston will take up the position of senior partner, advising on long term strategy.
