•Bell & Scott has appointed Pat Loftus as an associate. Loftus was previously at Maclay Murray & Spens. He is dual-qualified in English and Scottish law and specialises in non-contentious construction law.
•Edward Moseley has been made a partner at Lodders Solicitors just three months after he joined the firm. Moseley joined Lodders as an associate in June from Parker Bullen.
•Irina Tymczyszyn has joined Bryan Cave as a commercial litigation associate in its London office. Tymczyszyn joins from Olswang, where she was a senior associate.
•Scott Rees & Co Solicitors' debt recovery service has hired Steven Hall as a business development officer and Karen Girvin as its debt recovery supervisor. Hall joins from Nestlé, where he has worked for 20 years, while Girvin was previously the financial controller at Langburn.
•Tim Bowley has been made partner at Australian firm Johnson Winter & Slattery (JWS). Bowley joined JWS in Adelaide in 1998 before moving to London to work for Slaughter and May. He returned to JWS in 2005 as a Sydney-based senior associate.
•UK domain name registry Nominet has appointed Nick Wenban-Smith as senior legal counsel. Wenban-Smith will lead Nominet's dispute resolution service. He previously held senior in-house legal positions at PowderJect Pharmaceuticals and consulting business Huntswood.
•Newcastle firm Hay & Kilner has hired Lydia McCaslin as a private capital assistant from Cartmell Shepherd in Cumbria.
•DWF has made seven new appointments. Qamar Ayaz joins as an assistant from Weightmans, Elizabeth Boyes as an assistant and Philip Woolham as an assistant from DLA Piper, Nicola Green as an assistant from Keoghs, Sarah Hull as an associate from the Jones Myers Partnership and Paul Stanley as an assistant from Forster Dean Solicitors. Lorna Mitchell, who joins as a corporate associate, was previously with Allen & Overy, before leaving in 2006 to go travelling.
