•Offshore firm Ogier has appointed Nick Gamble as partner in its Guernsey office. Gamble joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a partner in the finance practice. The firm has also promoted Raulin Amy and Dan Richards to its partnership in the business and trust law group in Jersey, effective from 1 September. They were previously managing associates.
•Arnold & Porter has appointed Juan Manuel Trujillo as a partner in its corporate practice in New York. Trujillo joins from Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton's New York office, where he was a partner.

•Italian firm Portolano Colella Cavallo Studio Legale has promoted Laura Liguori to its partnership. She will continue to focus on IT and e-commerce.
•Ward Hadaway has hired Martin Woodford as an assistant in the pensions team. Woodford joins from rival Newcastle-based firm Watson Burton, where he was also an assistant.

•McCormicks has promoted Lee-Anne Robins-Hicks to assistant. She specialises in criminal law and fraud and joined Harrogate-based McCormicks in 2005 as a trainee.
