•Fulbright & Jaworski has hired Glenn Jones as senior counsel in the healthcare practice in Washington DC. Jones was previously New York special assistant attorney general.
•Susan El Hachmi has joined Osborne Clarke as a senior associate in its incentives practice in the London office. El Hachmi was previously an associate at CMS Cameron McKenna.
•The City Law School has appointed Anthony Rogers as a senior lecturer in shipping law. Rogers, who joins from Cardiff University, joins the university as part of a push to increase the number of student places on its International Commercial Law LLM.
•Akerman Senterfitt has hired William Spencer as an equity partner in its South Florida litigation practice. He joins from Gunster Yoakley & Stewart, where he was an equity partner.
•Dewey Ballantine has appointed Jeffrey Ira Frey as counsel in the IP litigation group in Washington DC. Frey joins from Robins Kaplan Miller & Ciresi.
•Dundas & Wilson has hired Richard Elson as chief information officer to lead the development of the firm's IT systems across the UK. Elson joins from Shearman & Sterling, where he held an international management role reporting to the global chief information officer.
•Dorset and New Forest firm Ellis Jones Solicitors has hired John Crawford as a partner to focus on development and commercial property work. He joins from Bournemouth and Wimborne firm Dibbens, where he was senior partner.
•HBJ Gateley Wareing has hired Mark Haworth as an associate in its Leicester office. Haworth joins from the in-house legal services department of Alliance & Leicester. The firm also appointed assistant Claire Hollins to its employment team in Birmingham. Hollins joins from KJD in Stoke-on-Trent, where she trained and qualified in 2006. Meanwhile, Bijan Sedghi has been promoted to chairman of HBJ's management board.
•Australian firm Minter Ellison has relocated partner Wan Li from Hong Kong to its Shanghai office to head the team in the city.
•The Law Society has appointed Richard Miller as its legal aid manager. He was previously chief executive of the Legal Action Practitioners Group.
•LK Shields Solicitors has appointed John Olden as a partner in its business unit. Olden joins from Dublin-based firm A&L Goodbody, where he was a partner.
•Kaye Scholer has appointed compensation and benefits lawyers Jeffrey London and Mary Lou Zwick as a partner and counsel respectively in its Chicago office. London and Zwick join from Reed Smith, where they were both partners.
