•US firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has promoted Barry Senterfitt to partner in charge of its Austin office. Senterfitt replaces Tim LaFrey in the role after LaFrey left to become the president and chief operating officer at the American Physician Services Group.
•O'Melveny & Myers has hired Shannon Lowry Nagle as a partner in its business restructuring and reorganisation group. She joins from Atlanta-based Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy.
