  • Watson Burton has hired Zoe Thomas as a senior solicitor in its employment team. Thomas joins the firm's Leeds office from Addleshaw Goddard.

  • Semple Fraser has promoted three of its solicitors to associate level. They are Stacey Smyth and Claire McPherson in the construction team and Alix Wotherspoon in the firm's planning team.

  • Japanese firm Atsumi & Partners has hired Daniel Hounslow as an M&A and private equity partner. Hounslow was formerly counsel with Clifford Chance in its Japan private equity practice.

  • Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish has hired two associates, Sean Donovan-Smith and Anne Taulbut, who join the London financial services practice. Donovan-Smith joins from McGrigors and Taulbut from SJ Berwin.

  • Mills & Reeve has hired Stephen Hamilton as a corporate senior solicitor. Hamilton joins from Norton Rose, where he was an associate.

  • Sacker & Partners has hired two new solicitors, Naomi Brown and Nigel Cayless. Brown joins after completing her training contract at Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw and Cayless arrives after training at Landwell.

  • The Hardman Partnership has promoted James Pike to qualified solicitor level after the completion of his two-year traineeship with the firm. Pike will focus on employment and commercial litigation work.

  • Hextalls has hired Anthony Thompson as an associate in its employment team. Thompson joins from Wellers in Bromley.

  • Berryman has promoted corporate finance specialist Roger Harcourt to its partnership. Harcourt joined Berryman as an associate in the business services team six months ago from Shoosmiths.

  • Pitmans has appointed Karen Lee as an assistant in its commercial property team. Lee joins from Glazer Delmar Solicitors.
