London-based Howard Kennedy has appointed Ronaldo Sallows as a partner in the company and commercial department. Sallows joined last week from Withers where he was a senior solicitor. This new appointment brings the total number of partners at Howard Kennedy to 65. Paul Catterall will also join the firm's residential property team as an assistant solicitor.
Southampton firm Moore & Blatch has strengthened its marine law department with the appointment of barrister Jonathan Clark, who joins from City firm Chauncy & Co and who previously spent six years in the Royal Navy. He will now work across a range of maritime matters, including insurance claims, collision actions, racing disputes and carriage of goods by sea. The firm has also appointed a senior property litigator to head its new property litigation unit. Suzie Rouse joins from Paris Smith & Randall in Southampton.
Barry Prior, formerly head of transport law at Wedlake Saint Solicitors, has joined Backhouse Jones. A transport lawyer with 30 years of experience, Prior joined on 1 August.
Kathryn Graham, a partner at Cobbetts, has been appointed chair of the Manchester branch of ProHelp. ProHelp is a national network of more than 1,000 professional firms which give their time and expertise for free to local community groups and voluntary organisations.
Howard Kennedy has hired a new senior solicitor. Craig Thompson joins from Olswang, where he spent seven years in the corporate finance department. Thompson has experience in corporate M&A, property finance and general banking.
